About
The idea for Expressive Connections was originally thought up and designed for a Telecommunications class project at Michigan State University. We wanted to create a web site that would showcase the creative side and present an opportunity for aspiring and accomplished artists and writers to present their work to the world in a professional light. Our goal with Expressive Connections was to create a website that would surpass the scope of a class assignment and could be used in the real world by real people with a passion and vision for creativity. We know that many talented writers and artists have never even seen the light of day or don’t even know how to get started or recognized. We want Expressive Connections to be that starting point, or even a refreshing point. Aspiring talent can come to us to be seen and accomplished talent can come to us to showcase their work in a modern and professional manner.
Whether you are an aspiring or accomplished artist, and whether it be a long-time hobby or just an appreciation for the talent of others, we welcome you to Expressive Connections. Feel free to have a look around and create an account if you have something to share. As mentioned, we want this to be a professional site - a place to be noticed and to highlight your talents. Use your profile and resume page to tell the world who you are as an artist and/or writer and to help you get noticed, if that is something you are looking for. We want this site to be about you, so please, enjoy your visit!
Hello. I'm Julie Cameron, a Telecommunications senior at Michigan State University. When I graduated high school, I really had no idea where I'd be in four years. I started off my college career with a focus on audio production - which I enjoyed but never really had the drive for. Now, here I am four years later and I know exactly what I want to do with myself - that is, to make really awesome websites. I think this site has put me on the right track. I learned more then I imagined possible in the process of making this site and cannot wait to apply what I've learned in my next endeavor. Lastly, I must thank my genius boyfriend, Adam, for helping me tackle the Ruby on Rails backend that holds Expressive Connections together.
Hello all, my name is Andrew Joseph Gorczyca, but you can call me AJ. Currently, I am a senior at Michigan State University majoring in Computer Science and I plan on graduating in May of 2007. After which I intend on going to graduate school and obtain a Master’s degree in Software Engineering. I have many interests including, as you may have guessed, web design and art. Along with this, I am a complete jock who also loves to play guitar, snowboard and program. Although I do not intend, at this time, on pursuing a career in web design, I thoroughly enjoyed putting this site together and hope that in the future I may have more opportunities to work on other web projects like this one. My goal is to be able to have a career in software development while being able to complete web projects during my spare time.
I'm Maroo, a DMAT Student at Michigan State University, the internet and web are the things that I have to live with. This "Expressive Connections" site will be my first step to toward my career and rest of my life. The "Expressive Connections" is one way to express myself, my thoughts, my styles, and my feelings to the others. Express yourself whatever It takes!
