More Than I Bargained For

This is one song that I’m working on. Kind of a slow, ballad.

Verse 1:

Girl, I’m not about to place the blame,
But this thing we have, you know, just ain’t the same.
Somewhere along the way we lost our trust.
That closeness we once had now I forever lust.

The look on your face used to never lie,
But I love you too much to pack in and say goodbye
Because I’ve given my heart as yours to take,
And those promises I made will never break.

Chorus:

Now, maybe it’s smarter to move on
And I’m here trying to be strong.
The wounds we have may heal with some time,
But the truth remains you never will be mine.
So I lost more than I bargained for, little girl
Still hurts to see you walk out that door.

Verse 2:

The other day you told me that you’ve had enough
You can’t take it anymore, it’s just too much.
Without knowing I yell into the phone
And it hits me now that I’m all alone.

Chorus:
